Four celebrities in your favourite boozer – who would you invite?
I spend the occasional evening supping Ringwood Best in my local pub. I think to make the evening flow, I would choose a mixture of personalities. Billy Connolly would definitely be on my list, he has always been a favorite of mine, I’ve met him a few times and he doesn’t ever let you down, brilliantly funny with a unique sense of humour. Next would be Johnny Cash, his music and life story has fascinated me from a very young age, his CD is in my car right now! To mix things up a bit I’d ask Muhammad Ali to pop in, I’m pretty sure he’d have a few stories to tell and to finish off it would be David Attenborough, a living legend and a voice and life experience I could listen to for hours!
What would you choose to drink?
I would be drinking Ringwood Best bitter for the first part of the evening and then onto Whisky.
Which sport would you debate?
Football, Rugby, boxing and Fishing.
What would be playing on the jukebox?
Johnny Cash, Nathaniel Rateliff and the night sweats and some Tom Petty.
Which book or film would you recommend?
Leon, Star Wars and Little Shop of Horrors.
What would you call your autobiography?
Moments – I believe life is about memorable moments, catching your first fish, falling in love and getting married, having children and getting into mischief.
Something that people would be surprised to learn about you…
I am an identical twin and I was born on a remote island in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean called St.Helena where Nepoleon died.
How would you spend your ideal weekend?
There are two answers here
- Family day!! Hanging out with my wife and my 3 boys aged 11, 6 and 5. I work incredibly hard but when I’m off duty its time to have fun!
- Fishing – I absolutely love to spend time next to water and over the years have been lucky enough to make some incredible memories catching some huge fish!
What was your first paid job?
Paper round and butcher.
The best piece of advice you have ever been given…
Make it count.
What is your biggest regret?
I really don’t have any, I miss those who have passed away and wish I’d spent more time with them, but I can honestly say I live my life fully. I live with the mindset that I can achieve and I will.
What would you most like to achieve over the next 12 months?
To be the very best I can be. Life is an opportunity, take it.
