Company History

McDonald Water Storage, had it’s beginnings in the world of engineering back in 1930 but within two decades they became known worldwide for their plumbing systems.

When World War Two broke out the firm moved into the production of aircraft wings and McDonald Engineers repaired and serviced the Hudson bomber aircraft. It was to be peacetime before it turned its attention to plumbing, manufacturing copper cylinders and complete plumbing systems.

Now celebrating their 75th Anniversary, McDonald produce all types of domestic and commercial water storage solutions, but specialise in mains pressure copper Thermal Store units. They produce three main categories of Thermal Store:

• MULTIflow – Thermal Store Range for the contract market
• THERMflow – Thermal Store Bespoke Range offering multiple heat source inputs
• CUBEflow – Thermal Store Range for space restricted applications

McDonald are also the only organisation that has a direct replacement for Elson hot water tanks, the ELSOflow.

McDonald are unique in their approach in that they will quickly create bespoke cylinder and water storage options to meet the design and performance requirements of their customer. The are the only organisation that has a direct like for like replacement for the Elson tank that was widely used in housing renovations over the last 30 years.
